My name is Laura Lucas, and I work in book visibility and Amazon positioning, helping authors get their books in front of the readers who are most likely to connect with them. I’ve always believed that writing a book is a deeply personal achievement. Behind every title is an author who has invested time, ideas, experience, and a great deal of themselves into their work. That is one of the reasons I became so interested in what happens after a book is published. A great book can exist on Amazon and still be difficult for the right readers to find. Sometimes the challenge isn’t the quality of the book at all. It can come down to how the book is positioned, which categories it appears in, the way its metadata communicates what it is about, or simply whether it is reaching the audience it was written for. That is where I enjoy helping. I take the time to look at a book from the reader’s perspective as well as from a visibility and positioning standpoint. I want to understand what makes the book different, who it is really written for, and how it is currently being presented to potential readers. From there, I help authors identify practical opportunities to improve discoverability, strengthen their Amazon positioning, and build a marketing approach that makes sense for their particular book and goals. I don’t believe in treating every book the same. A romance novel, a historical book, a memoir, and a fantasy series all have different audiences and different paths to discovery. What works for one author may not make sense for another, which is why I prefer a more thoughtful and personalized approach. For me, book marketing is also about more than simply chasing sales. It is about helping the right readers discover a book, giving authors a stronger foundation for growth, and making sure the work they have put so much into has a fair opportunity to be seen. I genuinely enjoy learning about books and the people behind them. Every author has a different reason for writing, a different audience they hope to reach, and a different definition of success. My goal is to understand those things first and then help create a strategy around them. At the end of the day, I want authors to feel that they have someone in their corner who actually took the time to understand their book, not someone simply applying the same marketing formula to everyone. I’m Laura, and I’m here to help good books become easier for the right readers to discover.
